The first award-winning short film is El mal d'Hèrcules, directed by Marta Rodríguez, Marina Miguel, Paula García, Laia Balaguer, Ismael Cabrera and Eulàlia Clarós. The film won the Jury Award for Best Documentary Short Film and the Young Jury Award. The work shows a group of people with epilepsy who are subjected for a week to a series of supervised sleep deprivation tests in order to have a seizure. Through this experience, the documentary explores what happens when consciousness is disconnected for a few moments.

The Jury Award for Best Documentary Short Film is endowed with €3000, and the Young Jury Award with €3000 to rent audiovisual material at Napalm Rentals.

Ei, Temi, directed by Arnau Belloc, Marta Aguilella and Jesús Minchón, received the Audience Award for Best Documentary Short Film. The film follows Paquita, an 85-year-old woman who lives alone in an apartment in Barcelona. She doesn't get many visitors, but one day her new roommate, the robot Temi, knocks on her door. The story raises the question of whether Temi will be able to put an end to Paquita's loneliness.

The prize in this category is €1000. In addition, all selected short films receive a €400 royalty payment.

The official jury was composed of Sandra Reina, film director and assistant director of El bus (2023); Macià Florit, filmmaker and audiovisual producer of Pedra pàtria (2021); Pol Roig, filmmaker and programmer of Demonstration (2014); Laia Aubia, director of the Catalan Film Academy, and Eulàlia Iglesias, hournalist and film and audiovisual critic. The young jury was composed of Emma López, student of Audiovisual Communiction and Multimedia; Klo Ballbé, graduate in Audiovisual Production, and Laia Hurtado, graduate in Audiovisual Communication and Multimedia.

The Òmnium Film Festival is an annual programme that recognises the best audiovisual productions in Catalonia, both short and feature films. In this edition it screened more than 160 productions in 90 theatres in the Catalan-speaking regions. In addition, thanks to the participation of the network of Catalan casals and lectorships of the Ramon Llull Institute, there have been 35 screenings in cities around the world to internationalise cinema in Catalan. The event takes place between March and June with screenings in schools and institutes through the festival's Pedagogical Programme, programming on digital platforms (Filmin and 3Cat) and exhibition at other festivals and parallel shows such as Sala Montjuïc and Cicle Gaudí.
