The UAB consolidates its position among the top 10% of European universities

The Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona remains in 66th position in the QS WUR Europe 2025 ranking, which this year ranks a total of 685 European universities, 10 more than last year. Thus, the UAB is in the top 10% of the best universities in Europe.

By indicators, it should be noted that the UAB ranks 21st among European universities in international students attending the University, 38th in academic reputation, 48th in international students from the UAB studying abroad, and 53rd in sustainability. t is also the first in Spain in articles published by teaching and research staff (62nd in Europe) and, in terms of research internationalisation, UAB is 76th in Europe in international research network.

For UAB Rector Javier Lafuente, "these results are unquestionable and very relevant in an increasingly competitive context and demonstrate the strength of our University and the fruit of the actions carried out to strengthen the international projection of the research activity of the UAB".

The QS WUR Europe ranking has a series of indicators that are different from the QS WUR and a change in the weight of some indicators. The main variations are a specific indicator of articles per teaching and research staff, with a weight of 5%, specific indicators of IN and OUT international mobility, with a weight of 2.5% each, and a specific indicator of international diversity, according to nationalities of origin, with a weight of 5%.
