Master description

The subjects address the key aspects of the One Health approach, which promotes interaction between human, animal, and environmental health. Through multidisciplinary training, the master’s degree provides students with the conceptual and methodological tools needed to understand, prevent, and manage zoonotic diseases, as well as to actively participate in health surveillance, control, and policy programmes at both national and international level.

The Master’s Degree in Zoonoses and One Health is an official postgraduate programme comprising a total of 60 ECTS credits and completed over one academic year, divided into two semesters.

The curriculum is structured around six compulsory subjects, five of which cover theoretical and practical content. The sixth subject is dedicated to the preparation and defence of the Master’s Dissertation (TFM). The programme combines theoretical, practical, and applied research activities and involves specialist teaching staff in medicine, veterinary medicine, biology, public health, and environmental sciences. This ensures comprehensive training that addresses current and emerging challenges in the field of One Health.

Course hours 2026/27: Monday to Friday from 15:00h. to 19:00h. Teaching will be classroom based , in Seminar B of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of the UAB.
