On Friday 26 May the UAB Research Park celebrated its 10th anniversary with a conference on the future of science parks and their role in the knowledge economy. The event included the three founding partners (UAB, CSIC and IRTA), research centre directors and private firms.
Researchers from the UAB-CIE Sphere were part of the central event on 30 March at CRAG, held in commemoration of the 10th anniversary of the European programme. The meeting highlighted the importance of innovative cutting-edge research which ERC has focused on throughout its 10 years of existence.
The UAB and the UAB-CIE member institutions will commemorate the 10th anniversary of the European Research Council on Thursday 30 March at 11 a.m., at the Centre for Research in Agricultural Genomics (CRAG). The meeting will unite researchers who have received funding from this European programme in the past 10 years.
The annual report of the European Patent Office places the UAB at the top of the list of Spanish universities in terms of patent applicants, with a total number of 20 European patent applications filed.
Their new research project studies the interactions, active site and mechanism of action of new inhibitors against pain developed by the pharmaceutical company. As a first step, the research will be carried out at the Protein Production Platform of the UAB.
The course Intellectual Property in the Development of the Thesis, organized by the Library Service of the UAB within the Program of Training of Doctors, is intended for those PhD candidates who are at the beginning of his research and who have doubts about intellectual property.
The UAB presented to the delegates of the European Commission the results of the HBB4ALL project, conducted with the aim of making audiovisual contents accessible at European level and in a hybrid distribution and reception environment.
The Director for International Cooperation of the Directorate General for Research and Innovation at the European Commission presented the EC objectives in this field on Tuesday 14 February at 9 a.m. at the auditorium (Sala d'Actes) of the Rectorat building.
On 14 and 15 February the UAB will play host to the B·DEBATE “Industrial biotechnology. Questions Today for Tomorrow’s Needs”, focusing on scientific, social and industrial aspects of this sector.
