Open the period of reception of proposals from entities for UAB students to carry out their Final Degree Project with ApS methodology.

The Autonomous University of Barcelona is promoting Service Learning or ApS in the university as a meaningful learning methodology, in which the students develop their academic skills while offering a service to the community, whether in social entities, educational or health centers, etc. In this way, students who wish to do so, will be able to develop this type of learning during their TFGs based on the proposals they have sent to social entities through the ApS Office of the UAB.
For this reason, we are looking for entities that can identify specific needs that they or their environment may have and carry out a project with them. Then, the UAB student, under the supervision of his/her academic tutor, can develop this idea in order to turn this result into a useful tool for the entity.
This is the fourth year that the entities are sought. The chosen proposals will be developed during the coming course (2022-2023). This year, 41 entities and public institutions are participating in this project, involving a total of 105 students from different faculties and fields of knowledge who will develop challenges as diverse as a catalogue of vertebrate and invertebrate fauna of Natural Parks, design a graphic campaign to reduce the use of plastic lunch boxes at the UAB, organize and energize reading spaces in a school in Barcelona, develop an app to serve vulnerable people, create materials adapted for people with visual disabilities for learning the Catalan language, make an informative campaign on the awareness of STIs, or carry out a plan to improve animal welfare in the farm of educational equipment, among others. The entities that collaborate are also very diverse, although the entities that prevail are from the field of formal education, health and the improvement of socio-economic conditions and social cohesion.
The interested entities must fill in this form with the proposal and the ApS Office will contact them. The deadline for the receipt of proposals is the 4th of March.
In addition, this year an informative session will be held for those entities / institutions that want to delve into it or have any doubts about the specific form or about the general process that the proposals will follow. The session, which will take place on Thursday, February 17 at 1 p.m., will last approximately 1 hour, will be in virtual format and will require prior registration here.
