The SAF (Physical Activity Service) organises a sports sections fair for students who are interested in exercising and playing sports on campus to obtain information on all the activities available to them: competitions, teams, sections, etc. The fair will take place on Thursday 27 September at the SAF facilities from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Twenty-four universities in Spain simultaneously participate in a video competition coordinated by the UAB (under the European U-Mob project) to award the creations which best represent the values of sustainable mobility at university.
The Language Service offers a support programme for lecturers giving classes in English. The programme consists of two courses, a practical teaching sessions and certificate.
On 6 September the Sant Pau Art Nouveau Site played host to the inauguration of the 2018/19 academic year. The inaugural speech was given by Òscar Camps, founder and director of Proactiva Open Arms, who affirmed that aiding migrants and refugees "is a pragmatic and moral decision".
On 2 August, the B-30's entrance and exit to the UAB campus will be closed due to repairs. The entrance into the UAB campus will be closed from 3p.m. to midnight. The exit from the UAB campus to the motorway will also close at 6 p.m.
During the month of August, UAB campus services will have special opening hours and some will close for a short period. Until 2 September, the service of the FGC Barcelona-Vallès train line will be affected by construction work at Sabadell's Can Feu and Gràcia stations.
The UAB aims to award five grants for the contracting of PhD-holding research staff with an accredited research profile, on a co-financing basis. Deadline for applications is 25 September.
The UAB once again occupies 9th place worldwide in the field of veterinary medicine according to the Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU), compiled by the Shanghai Jiao Tong University.
The new ranking places the UAB among the top universities in Europe in teaching excellence, and highlights the academic resources of the institution and the inclusive environment found on campus.
