All money will go to cancer research, the disease TV3 focuses on this year. The 7th edition will include new aspects such as a walk around the ALBA Synchrotron and a race through the town of Cerdanyola del Vallès.
The Friends of the UAB Association Friends awarded the university an honorary mention for its 50th anniversary during its annual celebration. Also awarded were Carme Trilla, Xavier Muñoz and Juanjo Villanueva, in addition to the UAB Employment Service. The"Friends of the Libraries" awards went to Francisco Rico, Eduardo Rojo and posthumously to Jesús Moncada.
On 26 November, the Jaume I University in Castelló will play host to the first summit of Female Rectors of Spanish Universities (CRUE), with the attendance of UAB Rector Margarita Arboix. The meeting will begin at 10 a.m. and will be streamed live.
The seventh edition of the UAB Solidarity Race to raise money for the TV3 Marathon, which this year will be dedicated to cancer, will once again be celebrated on Sunday, 16 December. Coinciding with the UAB's 50th anniversary, this edition will be the most festive and supportive of all. The race will be presented on Monday 26 November at the ALBA Synchrotron which for the first time will also be included in the event's itinerary.
The 3rd edition of the Awards for the best Final Degree Projects of the UAB with a gender perspective will be delivered next Tuesday, November 27. Of the 93 Final Degree Projects of the different faculties presented, 27 will be awarded, divided among four areas of knowledge.
On 26 November, the event to commemorate the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women was celebrated at 1 pm at the Plaça Cívica.
From 5 November to 21 December the UAB Healthcare Service will hold its annual influenza vaccine campaign addressed to all members of the university community (staff and students), especially those at a high risk of developing flu-related complications.
The UAB opens its selection process for tenure-eligible lecturer and researcher positions under a new call for the Serra Húnter Programme which will be open until 7 December.
Professor Robert Huber offered a conference entitled "The Century of Vision: Protein Structures for Drug Research” on 13 November at the auditorium of the Faculty of Biosciences, in commemoration of its 50th anniversary.
