The Observatory's reports include details about the situation of the collectives that are the object of attention and a description of the activities and projects that have been undertaken during an academic or calendar year.
The 2019-2020 academic year saw the publication of the Diagnosis for the development of the Fourth Action Plan for Gender Equality of the UAB (IV PAG). From September to December 2019, a series of awareness-raising and prevention activities were carried out on gender-based violence and LGBTIphobic violence financed by the funds of the State Pact against Gender Violence. Once again this year, the Observatory organised the traditional Institutional Day in commemoration of Women's International Day, which coincided with the 15th anniversary of the creation of the Observatory and with the act of recognition of a member of its team, Dr. Laura Duarte Campderrós, Responsible Specialist of the UAB Observatory for Equality. The third edition of the awards ceremony for the best Final Degree Projects (TFG) with a gender perspective at the UAB was held in collaboration with the Institut Català de les Dones (Catalan Women's Institute).
The 2018-2019 academic year saw the appointment of Maria Prats Ferret as the new director of the Observatory for Equality and the approval by the Governing Council at the session of 4 July 2019 of the Fourth Action Plan for Gender Equality at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona six-year period 2019-2023 (4th PAG). The Observatory has kept organising the traditional day of 8 March, with Maria Jesús Espuny’s acknowledgment act, and the First Institutional Day of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, on 3 December. Within the framework of the Festa Major, the awareness-raising campaign "Are you flirting or sexually harassing?" and a Purple Point to deal with assault in the context of the Festa Major were launched once again this year. In addition, on the occasion of the International Day of Women and Girls in Science, the Observatory, together with the Faculties of Science and Biosciences, organised the colloquium "Let's widen our outlook of science".
The importance of the academic year 2017-2018 relies on the approval by the Governing Council, on the March 14, 2018 session, of the Second Action Plan on disability and inclusion of the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona 2018-2023 period (2nd DAP). It is also worth mentioning that the Observatory organised together with other UAB associations a day to commemorate December 3rd, International Day of Persons with Disabilities, and a collective graffiti with the colours of the LGBTI flag in the Plaça Cívica’s stairs within the framework of May 17th, International Day against LGTBI-phobia. Lastly, it is worth mentioning that as part of the project UAB free from gender violence, the Observatory has written the Handbook against sexism and gender violence withing UAB’s associations.
The academic year 2016-2017 was characterised by the nomination of Dr Joana Gallego as new Director of the Observatory for Equality. The main activities undertaken this year include the first edition of the Prizes to the best TFGs with gender perspective by the UAB, the signing of an agreement with the Brunel University of London in order to be partners in the project Universities Supporting Victims of Sexual Violence (USVSV): Training for Sustainable Student Services, and the drawing up of a Protocol to face and intervene during sexual assaults at the UAB’s Festa Major.
In the academic year 2015-2016 one of the most important achievement was the nomination of Dr Teresa Freixes as new Director of the Observatory for Equality as well as several actions about visibility, training, research and involvement that were carried out. These actions notably include the The 1st UAB Quick Debate Marathon, the issue discussed was: "Are public policies on employment effective to achieve equality between women and men?", it was organised together with the Community Involvement Unit. Furthermore, it is also worth underlining the writing of the Protocol against sexual harassment and harassment on grounds of sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or gender expression by the UAB, coordinated by the Observatory’s management team.
