The Leadless Pacing Microcredential provides advanced, intensive, and highly practice-oriented training in patient selection, procedural planning, implantation, device interrogation, programming, and follow-up of leadless pacemakers.
The programme is intended for cardiology and electrophysiology professionals with prior experience in cardiac device implantation who wish to incorporate or consolidate the use of leadless pacing technology in their clinical practice. The training combines guided self-directed learning, interactive sessions, clinical case discussions, programming workshops, simulation of device implantation and retrieval, and supervised observation of procedures in a specialised clinical setting.
Teaching is delivered at Hospital de la Santa Creu i Sant Pau in small groups, enabling individualised supervision, deliberate practice, and continuous feedback from the teaching staff. The collaboration between the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB), the ERIS Institute, and healthcare professionals from different European centres integrates academic excellence, clinical expertise, and access to advanced simulation methodologies.
The microcredential is aligned with the cardiac pacing and bradyarrhythmia management content of the UAB Master's Degree in Advanced Cardiac Arrhythmology and provides a modular and stackable learning pathway at European Qualifications Framework (EQF) Level 7.
- Preparation and Planning of the Procedure
- AVEIR System and Procedural Workflow
- Supervised Simulation of Device Implantation and Retrieval
- Device Interrogation, Programming, and Follow-up
- Clinical Immersion and Case Discussion
