To practice within the specialized field of care for seriously ill/critical patients, a high level of knowledge and specific skillsboth technical and interpersonalis required. With the Masters Degree in Intensive and Critical Care Nursing (in both hospital and pre-hospital settings), you will be able to enhance your future clinical practice through the acquisition of theoretical and practical knowledge, as well as clinical skills. It also strengthens key aspects such as communication, leadership, education, and research, thus providing comprehensive training that will enable you to deliver optimal care to acute critically ill patients and their families.
It is a continuing education, interdisciplinary program delivered in a hybrid format, with a modular structure of 60 ECTS credits. It includes numerous workshops on technical skills and clinical simulation, as well as seminars, lectures, and more. The in-person component, organized in workshop format, incorporates a wide range of educational materials and also features advanced mannequins and simulators, helping students connect with the realities of professional practice.
The program offers a flexible curriculum with stand-alone and integrated modules, allowing students to progressively obtain different qualifications (expert diplomas) until reaching a higher academic degree (Masters). The maximum time established to complete the entire masters program is two years.
Hospital setting: intensive care units (ICU); intermediate cardiac-respiratory care units (ICRCU); emergency and urgent care departments; post-anesthesia care units (PACU); or any other area where critically/severely ill patients are treated.
Pre-hospital setting: advanced life support mobile units.
