Application form and enrolment process

The process starts once you have done your application form through the SIA portal and received your admission letter from our International Office at UAB.  This allows the Faculty of Economics and Business, to send an e-mail with all the information you need to select your courses (requirements and deadlines). You will receive the message by mid-June, for first semester and annual stays. In the case of second semester stays, the message will be sent by mid-December.

Basically, this is an online process that you should follow before coming to the UAB, which will allow you to reserve place on your courses.

Before choosing courses you should check our course offer. As you will see, the list is sorted by semesters, you should choose courses according to the term during which you are coming, first or second. In case of annual stays, during the second semester there will be a new enrolment process for courses belonging to the second semester.

You should check the language, credits, timetable and group of each course. Keep in mind that one course could have more than one possible group, that is, more than one possible timetable. Choose the most suitable for you.

You must take into account that you can only choose and enrol courses from that list. They are the only courses available for international exchange students; despite you can find a slightly higher course offer on other sections of our website.

Courses from other faculties

You may also be interested in taking courses from other faculties at UAB. For information about academic content and timetable (not about enrolment and access process, these matters must be managed by our Faculty), you can visit the website of the other faculties.

The Faculty of Economics and Business cannot reserve places (unlike our courses) nor guarantee the access to the courses from other faculties. Hence, we will not be able to know if there are available places until your arrival, once their students are officially registered.

Each Faculty at UAB has its own application process and different from us. That is why, upon your arrival, you should let us know the faculty to which belong the courses you are interested in, and we will inform you about the process you should follow. In any case, once the courses are confirmed, the registration of them must be formalized by our Faculty.

You should also bear in mind that at least 50% of your credits must belong to our faculty.

🏛️ Students assigned to the Faculty of Economics and Business

After deciding which courses you wish to take, you must prepare and upload the following documents to the system. This step is necessary before you can proceed with course selection and reserve a place in your chosen courses:

  • Health Insurance or European Health Insurance Card
  • Language Certificate
  • Commitment document (you will receive it by e-mail)

Once submitted, your documents will be reviewed. If they meet the requirements, the system will then allow you to continue with course selection.

Please note that this process has a specific deadline. In the email you receive, you will find key details, including the exact period during which the system will be accessible. Outside this timeframe, course selection will not be possible online. In that case, you will need to wait until your arrival at UAB and choose from the courses that remain available.

ℹ️  For further information, please consult the user guide available on this webpage.

📝  Learning Agreement

Our Faculty does not require you to submit the learning agreement in advance. Although the admission letter may suggest otherwise, our Faculty follows a different procedure. However, if your home university requires a signed agreement before your arrival, please wait until your courses have been confirmed through the system. Only then will we be able to return the signed document.

Otherwise, we recommend waiting until you are at UAB, as it is preferable to complete the learning agreement once your courses are officially enrolled.

🏛️ Students assigned to other UAB Faculties

If you come from another UAB faculty, you are welcome to select our courses once the students assigned to our faculty have been officially enrolled, provided that there are still places available in the courses of interest. When you arrive at the UAB, you must inform your faculty of your intention, as they are responsible for your final enrolment, including any courses taken at our faculty.

✒️ Course application process

  • Online pre-enrolment: Submit your request through the official portal. The platform will allow you to reserve a place in the courses you wish to take. You will be able to download a document with your selected courses, which you should keep.

ℹ️ For more information, please refer to the user guide available on this webpage. A direct link to the portal is also provided.

🗓️ Deadlines

  • Application period:
    • First Semester: September 18 to September 23.
    • Second Semester: Pending
  • Outside these periods, the system will not allow course selection.

🌐 Language requirements

  • To enroll in courses, you must provide proof of at least B2 level in English or Spanish, depending on the language of instruction. Please check the list of accepted certificates on our website.
  • The certificate must be uploaded to the platform before selecting courses. Once validated, you can proceed with your application.
  • Depending on the country of your home university, you may be exempt from this requirement. The system will indicate this when you log in.

🎓 Enrollment and Class Attendance

  • Inform your faculty to be officially enrolled in the courses confirmed by the system.
  • Until your enrollment is finalized, you may attend classes by showing the professor the document available for download in the system.

⚠️ Important about exams

Our faculty has a very strict exam rescheduling policy. Before choosing courses, carefully check the exam calendars to avoid conflicts, both with exams from your faculty and from ours.

In accordance with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR), the minimum level required to access the courses offered by the Faculty of Economics and Business, is B2 in the language of instruction of the courses to be enrolled: English, Spanish or Catalan.

No certificate is required for the language in which no courses have been selected. For courses taught in Catalan, a Spanish certificate will also be accepted due to the similarity between both languages.

The level required can be accredited in three different ways; however, depending on your native language and home country, you may be exempt, the system will indicate this in due course:

  1. Official Certificate (see table below)
  2. Certificate issued by the home university, stating that the student has a minimum level of B2 or equivalent.
  3. Certificate issued by the home university stating that the student is studying entirely in the relevant language or has completed at least 90 credits in that language.
