University Master's Degree in Translation and Intercultural Studies

The MUTEI is a one-year in-person Master's degree at the UAB, a university that is well-positioned in the best rankings.
On this Master's degree, you will learn to interpret the importance of translation and interculturality in all contexts, from the most global to the most local, to be able to face the new challenges in society, such as artificial intelligence.

  • With this Master's degree, you will acquire concepts and tools, methodology and technological resources to analyse and engage in the most diverse areas of specialisation in translation: audiovisual, legal, scientific-technical, economic and financial, publishing and literary translation, as well as teaching and intercultural management. 
  • The Master's degree has multilingual, multicultural and multidisciplinary teaching staff, who participate in a wide variety of recognised research groups, guaranteeing advanced, specialised and state-of-the-art training.
  • To reinforce the training, MUTEI promotes mobility programmes in the second semester established with prestigious universities around the world.
  • You can also carry out 100 hours of voluntary work with a company or organisation, doing tasks related to language, culture, translation and interpreting.
     

 

Career options

Graduates of this Master's degree are capable of integrating practice, analysis and research skills. The training received is oriented towards different sectors: teaching and research; communication and marketing companies; linguistic and intercultural consultancy; cultural management; international organisations and NGOs; public administrations and companies in any industry (e.g. with an import and export department).

Students also acquire skills that will enable them to enter a doctoral programme and perform tasks in universities, organisations and institutions, R&D departments in companies, think tanks, etc.).
