The master's degree in Applied Microbiology provides advanced knowledge in applied microbiology. Its main objective is to train new professionals by equipping them with the skills needed to enter the industrial, healthcare and research field. The syllabus gives students a multidisciplinary and integrated view of molecular, environmental, medical and industrial microbiology applications through the compulsory modules and further practical training through compulsory external work placements in private laboratories, in research centres and in public institutions, allowing direct contact with the profession right from the beginning of the course.
The different modules include the participation of professionals with extensive knowledge on microbiology in the fields of research and industry and reflect the excellence of lecturers. This master's degree has received the seal of approval of the Catalan University Quality Assurance System, and it also fulfills all academic requirements for those who seek to continue onto a doctoral programme.
