Part of the information in this section is under evaluation by the Agència per a la Qualitat del Sistema Universitari de Catalunya (AQU)
The admission requirements are as follows:
- Hold an official university degree (Bachelor’s, Licentiate, or equivalent).
Preference will be given to graduates in the areas of chemistry, physics, geology, biology, biochemistry, environmental sciences, geography, economics, and engineering (chemical, environmental, civil, or agronomic), due to their affinity with the master’s program content.
Admission of graduates from other areas will be assessed by the admission committee, taking into account prior interdisciplinary training related to environmental, social, or economic sciences linked to sustainability, as well as accredited professional experience (minimum 6 months) in sectors related to environmental sustainability, resource management, or territorial planning. For this assessment, candidates must provide their curriculum vitae, academic transcript, and, where applicable, certificates or professional accreditations.
- Possess proficiency in English, with documentary accreditation of level B2 according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) of the Council of Europe.
For the Global Change Science and Management specialization and the Ecological Economics specialization, which include training activities requiring greater verbal fluency such as debates, candidates must demonstrate a C1 level according to the CEFR.
Levels B2 and C1 may be accredited by presenting an official recognized certificate or by proving English proficiency through native language status, previous studies in English, or other certificates that will be assessed and, if applicable, validated by the admission committee.
Admission to the master’s program will be carried out by specialization, according to the preference expressed by each candidate in their application. Assignment to a specialization will follow the same priority criteria defined in the “Selection Criteria” section. Those who do not obtain a place in their first-choice specialization may be reassigned to their second or third choice, provided there are vacancies. The master’s coordination team will organize tutoring sessions with applicants, strictly following this priority order, in which the final assignment to each specialization will be formalized. The procedure will be made known to all applicants before the admission process begins.
