
The UAB among top 100 in twelve subjects

Timothy J. Kehoe was recently awarded an honorary doctorate by the UAB. The economist was "deeply moved" by the award and spoke on his professional career, with special mention to his collaboration with the UAB.
From 15 to 18 April, the university will host #TechPartyUAB, a meeting point which will include competitions, workshops, debates and talks for video game professionals and amateurs interested in new technologies, social networks and innovation.
The UAB will close all centres during Spring Break, from 21 to 28 March. Some services, however, will stay open in special cases.
The UAB leads the ranking of universities in Spain and is in 70th position in the Best Universities in Europe 2016 ranking published by Times Higher Education.
On 16 March Timothy J. Kehoe, professor in Economics at the University of Minnesota, was awarded an honorary doctorate by the UAB in a ceremony which took place at the Auditorium of the Rectorate building.
Marika Vila, author of the exhibit “Marika Vila. Woman's Voice Breaking Stereotypes”, and Joana Gallego, gender and communication specialist, will discuss the representation of women in the world of comic on Friday March at 1 pm in the UAB Theatre.
Last year, the UAB presented 18 priority patent applications, making it the first university in Spain and second centre in Catalonia in number of patents, according to the European Patent Office's Annual Report 2015.
The UAB will be showcasing its academic programmes for the 2016-2017 academic year at the Saló de l'Ensenyament from 9 to 13 March and Saló Futura on 11 and 12 March.
