Martí Boada appointed scientific advisor to the UNESCO
ICTA-UAB researcher Dr Martí Boada has been appointed UNESCO's scientific advisor on issues of conservation of biosphere reserves.
ICTA-UAB researcher Dr Martí Boada has been appointed UNESCO's scientific advisor on issues of conservation of biosphere reserves.
The UAB ranks among the top 100 most innovative universities in Europe. It is located in 81st position in the Reuters News ranking, which assesses patents and the commercial impact of university research. The ranking is based on the data provided by Clarivate Analytics and analyses institutions which have applied for at least 50 patents between 2010 and 2015.
The UAB obtains a maximum score in 26 of the 33 indicators evaluated by the Fundación Conocimiento y Desarrollo (CYD). The CYD ranking evaluates a total of 69 Spanish universities and is based on the European Commission's U-Multirank.
The UAB stands out once again in a ranking on the 50 most popular degrees in Spain according to El Mundo: the university improves its results and is now second in the ranking, surpassed only by the Complutense University of Madrid.
From 15 to 19 May, the UAB organises a new edition of the Erasmus Staff Week, where administrative members of different European universities spend a week at the UAB.
On 13 May this year's second Family Day took place, in which future university students and their families visited the campus, the different faculties and the Vila Universitària.
The UAB is one of the first universities to introduce Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) this year. Created by the United Nations, these objectives focus on extreme poverty, hunger, access to healthcare and education, and climate change, and will be offered in five degrees belonging to the Faculty of Education and the School of Engineering.
The Center for World University Rankings (CWUR) presented its 2017 edition of rankings by subjects of the best universities in the world. Globally, the UAB occupies position number 166.
