The UAB received €34.4M from the Horizon 2020 programme for 73 projects in the 2014-2017 period. This data makes it third in funding for Spanish universities, following the technical universities of Catalonia (UPC) and Madrid (UPM).
A new service, OPINA UAB, allows all those interested to transmit to the university administration their opinions, suggestions, complaints or compliments on any of the university activities and services offered by the UAB.
The UAB and FC Barça signed an agreement to create the Master's Degree in Management of Communication and Sponsorship in Sports Organisations, which will form part of the Sport Communication Lab, a joint initiative which will managed by the UAB Olympic and Sports Studies Centre (CEO) and the Barça Innovation Hub.
The UAB's online journal UABDivulga recently received the National Research Prize 2017 from the Government of Catalonia and the Catalan Research and Innovation Foundation (FCRi) in the category of Scientific Communication.

Ana Ripoll, professor in computer architecture and former rector of the UAB, was awarded the 12×12 Dona TIC 2017 Prize in the category of "academic-researcher".
The 6th edition of the Cursa de la UAB in support of the TV3 Marathon, which took place on 13 December, was a complete success despite the low temperatures. This year's winners of the 6.4 race were Iván Limia Boo and Estefanía Chamorro Padilla, and there was also a 45 minute walk around campus. Technology consultants STP Group were this year's sponsors for the race.
The Open Days, which will take place on 6, 7 and 8 February on campus, will include 200 talks in different centres on almost 100 bachelor's degrees offered by the UAB in the next academic year.
