The UAB ranks third in Spain according to Reuters' World's Most Innovative Universities. It is located in 93rd position in the Reuters News ranking, which assesses patents and the commercial impact of university research.
As partof its 50ty annivesary celebrations, the UAB has decided to award five honorary doctorates to experts from different fields of knowledge: Caddy Adzuba, Marie-Paule Kieny, Jaume Plensa, Joaquim Mª Puyal and Lisa Randall.
Candidates have until 18 May to submit their applications to the call for emeritus and honorary titles for teaching staff in the 2018/19 academic year. Departments and institutes can present applications for professors who have already retired and fulfil all requirements stated in the call details.
Mental disorders, depression, anxiety and suicide are some of the issues which will be discussed by experts in the First Solidarity Week, organised by the Faculties of Science and Biosciences and taking place from 23 to 27 April. The main objective is to provide information on subjects of interest from a scientific and social point of view and get the university community involved.
From 23 to 27 April, the UAB organises a new edition of the Erasmus Staff Week, where administrative members from different European universities spend a week at the UAB.
Six pianos in six different places on campus will be seen on 17 and 18 April. They will be available for anyone interested in playing the piano and filling the UAB campus with music! The initiative forms part of the 50th anniversary celebrations at the UAB.
On 18 April the UAB awarded renowned biochemist and disciple of Severo Ochoa Margarita Salas an honorary doctorate after being proposed for the award by the Faculties of Science and Biosciences. The event formed part of the UAB's 50th anniversary celebrations.
The UAB has opened a new call for application for language grants for different purposes among the university community: language learning, correction of teaching materials or organisation of seminars and conferences.
