Precision psychiatry and translational research in mental health are transforming our understanding of mental disorders, integrating biological biomarkers, neuroimaging, genetics, inflammation and multimodal approaches to move towards a more personalised form of medicine.
This course offers specialised and applied training in mental health biomarkers from a translational and multidisciplinary perspective.
The course combines up-to-date theoretical knowledge with practical activities focused on designing competitive research projects, the critical interpretation of scientific literature and the discussion of real-world cases.
The programme is led by researchers and clinicians with active experience in national and international research in areas such as stress, psychoneuroendocrinology, inflammation, metabolism, genetics, epigenetics and molecular neuroimaging (PEDO).
The course is organised in small groups and includes:
- synchronous online sessions,
- ongoing tutorials,
- the development of a group research project,
- and an intensive one-week face-to-face session featuring interactive workshops and a final symposium.
This format enables a close-knit, participatory learning experience focused on real-world research practice.
The course is particularly aimed at trainees, mental health professionals, PhD students and researchers interested in:
- precision psychiatry,
- biomarkers,
- translational methodology,
- and the development of mental health research projects.
The course is delivered in collaboration with professionals from various hospital and university institutions, including international guest lecturers.
