The International Specialization Course Political Communication in an AI World: Trends, Projects, Tools and Case Studies is an international academic experience aimed at students interested in the field of Political Communication.

Its objective is to broaden and contextualize knowledge of political communication, leadership, institutional communication, democratic innovation, and the impact of artificial intelligence on contemporary political and communication processes.

The programme combines a series of contextual online sessions delivered by UAB faculty members and leading professionals with an international academic expedition that will take place between Barcelona and Brussels in July 2027. This experience will enable participants to engage directly with key institutions, organizations, and projects related to politics, European governance, public communication, and democratic innovation.

In Barcelona, participants will attend specialized lectures and training activities, as well as visit institutions, organizations, and media outlets involved in political and electoral communication. Subsequently, in Brussels, the political capital of Europe, they will gain insight into the functioning of the main European institutions, visit the European Parliament, and take part in meetings with Members of the European Parliament, advisors, analysts, and professionals working in the field of European political communication.

The course will also include dedicated spaces for participants to present their own projects, fostering the exchange of experiences, the creation of international networks, and collaborative learning among students from diverse academic and professional backgrounds.

It is therefore an international, hybrid, and professionally oriented programme designed to promote experiential learning and direct engagement with institutional leaders, experts, political communication professionals, and organizations that are helping to redefine public communication and political action in today’s European context, shaped by the growing influence of artificial intelligence.

he specialization course in Political Communication trains professionals capable of designing, managing, and evaluating communication strategies in the political and institutional sphere, both in national and international contexts. The programme provides the knowledge and tools required to pursue professional careers in the communication offices of public institutions, political parties, international organizations, communication consultancies, media organizations, and entities involved in citizen participation and institutional relations.

The course also prepares students to perform roles related to political communication consultancy, campaign management, speechwriting, digital communication, public opinion analysis, media relations, and the planning of institutional communication strategies. The programme incorporates a European and international perspective through an academic and professional experience in Barcelona and Brussels, allowing participants to gain first-hand insight into the operation of institutions, organizations, and political decision-making and communication environments.

In addition, students have the opportunity to develop their own consultancy, strategic advisory, research, and entrepreneurial projects in the field of political, institutional, and public communication, within a context shaped by digital transformation, artificial intelligence, and the emerging challenges facing democracy and citizen participation.
