Register for an official master's degree
On 16 January the UAB opened the registration period for its 2015/16 official master's degrees. Over 100 academic programmes are offered in all areas of knowledge.

The UAB university community can submit proposals for development cooperation
The UAB Solidarity Fund has opened two calls: one for teaching/research and administrative/service staff, the other for postgraduate students (diploma, MA, PhD), to facilitate the submission of proposals for development cooperation projects in developing countries linked to the UAB. Examples of such initiatives are this project in Mexicoor the communication workshops.
Three UAB researchers receive Starting Grants
The European Research Council has awarded the grants to Caterina Calsamiglia (Department of Economics and Economic History - MOVE), Iñaki Permanyer (Centre for Demographic Studies) and Albert Quintana, (Department of Cell Biology, Physiology and Immunology and the Institute of Neuroscience).
UAB closes from 22 December to 6 January for the holidays
All UAB centres will be closed from 22 December 2014 to 6 January 2015 although some services will be available.
Barcelona is one of the 20 best cities for students
According to the QS Best Student Cities 2015, Barcelona is the 19th top city in the world for university students. Among other factors, the ranking takes into account that the city is home to the two most prestigious universities in Spain: the UAB and the UB.
Universities and research centres save up to 13% on electricity bill
The UAB is one of the 15 universities and research centres which - through the Consorci de Serveis Universitaris de Catalunya (CSUC) - has saved up to 1.73 million euros in 2014, a 13% of the total electricity bill.
UAB helps disabled students and graduates enter the labour market
The UAB has created a programme which helps disabled students and graduates find jobs. The university offers support and assessment in looking for work and acts as a liaison between candidates and job vacancies.
