The UAB is one of 16 institutions participating in the Active Campus Europe project, coordinated by the RWTH Aachen University and with the objective of fostering physical activity and fighting against sedentary lifestyles among students.

In the past report "Indicadors Bibliomètrics de l’Activitat Científica Espanyola 2005-2014" by the Spanish Foundation for Science and Technology, the UAB was listed as the second university in Spain after the UB in number of cited publications.
Students from the degree in Physics recently won two of the three gold medals and three silver medals of the total of 34 medals awarded in the competition. A total of 197 teams from around the world participated.
