The UAB opens a new period in which members of the univeristy community can participate in the “Bike to the UAB” challenge. All kilometres biked by participants from 15 February to 15 March will be registered.

Climate Change Threatens World's Largest Seagrass Carbon Stores
Shark Bay seagrass carbon storage hotspot suffers alarming losses after a devastating marine heat wave, according to a study led by ICTA-UAB researchers. The loss of seagrass would have released up to nine million metric tons of carbon dioxide (CO2) into the atmosphere.
Health and Sustainability Week
The UAB will celebrate its 9th Health and Sustainability Week from 16 to 20 April: over 50 activities (workshops, conferences, races, sports, and many more) open to all members of the university community with the aim of promoting a healthy lifestyle. On Wednesday and Thursday there will also be food trucks and live music.
The UAB launches its second International Alumni Chapter in Beijing
The UAB Alumni Beijing Chapter was born with the objective of maintaining ties with former UAB students in Beijing, favouring networking between communities and fostering peer-to-peer relationships.
The UAB presents its academic programmes at the education fairs
The UAB will be showcasing its academic programmes for the 2018-2019 academic year at the Saló de l'Ensenyament (14 to 18 March) and Futura (16 and 17 March). Both education fairs will take place at the Montjuïc Fair venue in Barcelona.
Women's Day at the SAF
On 8 March, the UAB's Physical Activity Service (SAF) opens its doors to celebrate International Women's Day with activities designed especially for women. Registration is free and allows visitors to attend all of the day's programmed activities.
The new Planttes app warns of allergy risks in different urban areas
The Planttes application is a citizen science project which aims to encourage people to identify and locate on a map the existence of allergy-causing plants and indicate their phenological state.
The UAB ranks among the top 100 worldwide in 16 disciplines
The UAB ranks 31 worldwide in Veterinary Medicine and is amongst the top 100 univeristies of the world in 15 more disciplines, according to the QS World University Rankings by Subject.
UAB students awarded 14 medals at the University Physics Competition
A total of 57 students from the bachelor's degree in Physics participated in the international University Physics Competition, an event which includes over 700 university physics students from all over the world.
