The UAB opens a call for 44 emeritus and honorary titles

Candidates have until 18 May to present their applications to 44 available emeritus and honorary titles for the 2018/19 academic year. Departments and institutes can present applications for professors through this online form.

On 25 May the provisional list of final candidates will be made public and a period for claims and queries will be opened. The Academic Staff Committee will announce the final list of accepted candidates on 4 June. The effective date of the appointment will be 1 September 2018.

Emeritus professors are temporarily hired faculty members who have contributed greatly to the university and are now retired. An emeritus professor receives a monetary compensation comparable to a adjunct professor level A1.1.

Honorary professors are also retired and have chosen in the past of present to share their knowledge with the university in an altruistic manner without receiving any monetary compensation for it.
