The Síndic de Greuges de Catalunya, which is the name for the Catalan ombudsman, is an institution of the Generalitat de Catalunya, which is charged with guaranteeing the rights of the public to a satisfactory government administration service. It also addresses complaints filed by persons who find themselves disempowered because of the actions (or lack of action) of the administrative bodies.

The Faculty of Law, in collaboration with the Community Involvement Unit, has organized a new activity that will allow you to find out more about the Síndic de Greuges de Catalunya. This activity will take place from 30 March to 20 April and will be divided into a theoretical part, which will deal with technical issues, such as complaint processes and the relation between the ombudsman and the public administrations; and a practical part that will deal with the ombudsman’s actions in topics such as the access to information and the fight against torture and discrimination. This activity can be recognised with 2 ECTS credits for UAB students, but can also be attended by the whole university community.

The registration period will be open from 1 to 29 March. For more information you can contact info.participacio@uab.cat or check this website.
