Recognition of certificates
Our level certificates are university certificates, issued by the UAB Language Service and recognised by all Catalan universities, the Catalan Government (Generalitat) and many companies and organisations. They are valid for obtaining credits at the UAB, as proof of having the required B2 level in a third language, and for master's degrees at Catalan universities that expect new applicants to show proficiency in a language.
The certificate for the multilevel B1-B2-C1 English examination is recognized by the Spanish Association of Higher Education Language Centres (ACLES). Certificates accepted by ACLES are recognised by all Spanish universities.
The certificates that accredit a level of proficiency in a given Language, as defined in article 234.4 of the UAB academic regulations, are the following:
The certificates recognised by the CRUE, the Conference of Spanish University Rectors, as indicated in their language lists (German, English, Spanish as a Foreign Language, French, Italian and Portuguese).
The certificates recognised by the Inter-University Council of Catalonia through the following agreements:
- Resolution EMC/3414/2020, of 18 December 2020, publicising the Agreement of 4 November 2020 of the Language-Policy Committee of the Board of the Inter-University Council, updating the list of certificates and diplomas annexed to the Agreement of the Board of the Inter-University Council of Catalonia, amending the Agreement of 24 April 2015, on the recognition of certificates and qualifications accrediting proficiency in foreign languages.
- Resolution EMC/122/2017, of 23 January 2017, publicising the Agreement of the Board of the Inter-University Council of Catalonia amending the Agreement of 24 April 2015, on the recognition of certificates and diplomas accrediting proficiency in foreign languages.
