Are you interested in studying English, learning how to acquire and use it in a multilingual environment, discover its literatures from a variety of periods, historic moments and geographic places, while at the same time understanding the dynamics of cultural transmission in terms of gender or relations of power?

The Master's Degree in English Studies: Linguistic, Literary and Sociocultural Perspectives will provide you with the theoretical and methodological tools necessary to gain extensive knowledge in a diversity of study areas. You will benefit from a multidisciplinary and 100% in English programme set in an international environment. Year after year, a large number of local and international students from around the world come together to study at one of the best universities in Spain. 

The master's degree offers two specialisations: 
(a)    Multilingualism and Acquisition of English
(b)    Literature and Cultural Studies

It also offers you the chance to combine optional modules from both specialisations after taking the obligatory module of your choice. 

Regardless of the area you choose, it will aid you in acquiring extensive theoretical and analytical training, facilitating your ability to study autonomously and initiating you in the current research lines existing in the field of your choice.

This master's degree is addressed to graduates with prior knowledge in language, literary and cultural studies in English, interested in taking their professional training one step further.

Starting in 2021/22 students are able to take a double master’s degree of 120 credits (Double Master’s Degree in English and American Studies) thanks to the agreement signed between the UAB and the University of Ca’Foscari (Venice), where students will do their second year of studies.
