Ideal student profile
The master’s degree is aimed at graduates in health sciences in the fields of medicine, pharmacy, biomedical sciences and biology, who are interested in developing their career in the field of transfusion and tissue medicine and advanced cell therapies.
The proposed program will be taught in English.
It is recommended that prospective students have the ability to work, motivation, and an interest in innovation within the area of study of the master’s degree.
Knowledge
- Recognize the ethical, legal, and regulatory principles governing the donation of blood, cells, and tissues.
- Identify the main quality indicators in the production of blood components.
- Define the compatibility criteria in the selection of blood units and blood components.
- Identify the diagnostic foundations of the main adverse immunohematological reactions to transfusion.
- Recognize the biological principles underlying cell therapies, also considering the gender perspective.
- Describe methodologies and resources applicable to research in transfusion medicine.
Skills
- Design safe protocols for the donation and processing of blood components according to current regulations.
- Analyze quality indicators applied to different production methodologies.
- Organize compatible units according to different clinical scenarios.
- Use the necessary techniques and tools for project management in the transfusion field.
- Apply the most appropriate techniques and tools to coordinate projects in blood banks.
- Apply the acquired knowledge to generate innovative solutions in immunotherapy and regenerative medicine using appropriate resources.
- Contrast ideas, conclusions, and arguments with clarity and precision to adapt them to the communicative context.
