Basic skills
- Students must have and understand knowledge of an area of study built on the basis of general secondary education, and while it relies on some advanced textbooks it also includes some aspects coming from the forefront of its field of study.
- Students must be capable of applying their knowledge to their work or vocation in a professional way and they should have building arguments and problem resolution skills within their area of study.
- Students must be capable of collecting and interpreting relevant data (usually within their area of study) in order to make statements that reflect social, scientific or ethical relevant issues.
- Students must be capable of communicating information, ideas, problems and solutions to both specialised and non-specialised audiences.
- Students must develop the necessary learning skills to undertake further training with a high degree of autonomy.
Specific skills
- Identify and interpret social, economic, technological and sustainability challenges in different areas such as: town planning, infrastructures, mobility, urban economies, services and equipment, cultural diversity and social inequality, energy and natural resources, waste, etc.
- Analyse and model urban and regional dynamics using methodological instruments for qualitative and quantitative analysis.
- Measure the technological infrastructure necessary to respond to the needs of cities, understanding the interactions between technological, social and operational aspects of cities.
- Design platforms of management, integration of public and government services applying technologies and systems of sensorization, acquisition, processing and communication of data.
- Integrate cyberphysical systems based on the interrelationship between information technology and physical processes in urban environments.
- Identify and use different sources, models and data bases of information generated by urban activity, as well as their principles of operation, access policies and standards.
- Solve urban management problems using knowledge, methodology and procedures for the design and implementation of computer applications for different types of environment (web, mobile, cloud) and different paradigms.
- Identify and use the different ways of acquiring and managing geographical information to carry out regional interpretations and, in particular, interpretations of maps and images of the observation of the earth.
- Conceive, design and manage the implementation of smart applications for geospatial information for urban and regional management.
- Solve problems of urban or regional management on a basic level for the implementation of processes for decision making.
- Identify and analyse government and management policies for cities in the different fields of urban development, particularly methods of public participation.
- Carry out projects related to the management, equality and sustainability of cities applying elements of technological innovation such as ICT.
Transversal skills
- Work cooperatively in complex and uncertain environments and with limited resources in a multidisciplinary context, assuming and respecting the role of the different members of the group.
