Results of the User Satisfaction Survey of the UAB Libraries

During the month of November 2022, the Library Service carried out the User Satisfaction Survey, which we carry out every three years to find out the opinions and assessment that the university community has regarding the services, resources and spaces of the libraries.

We present an infographic with the most notable results of the survey, which was answered by a total of 1,432 people, mainly undergraduate students.

It should be noted that the overall assessment of the service improves compared to the 2019 survey, and has a score of 8.4, following the growing trend of recent years. The assessment of the attention of the library staff also rises and stands at 8.7.

Beyond the answers to the closed questions, we have received many comments on the open questions that we asked. Of these contributions, those referring to the facilities are especially significant, where innovation spaces and flexible furniture areas are highly valued, while there is a demand for more group work rooms.

The physical or digital collection receives a good evaluation, and the comments focus on the need to better explain the different ways of accessing the digital library. It is worth highlighting the fact that no comment mentions the personal and special collections of the UAB Libraries, which can be consulted in the Dipòsit Digital de Documents.

Regarding services, the contributions show that it is necessary to spread more about everything that libraries offer to the university community.

All this information will serve to define future strategic objectives and undertake some improvement actions.
