Barcelona creates an assessment council for universities
Barcelona's new Consell Assessor Municipal d'Universitats, formed by well-known members of the higher education scene, was created with the aim of consolidating the city as a leader in knowledge economy.

Molecule capable of inhibiting DNA replication in bacteria discovered
Researchers from the UAB, VHIR and IBEC have identified a molecule with the potential ability to act as an antibacterial agent. The study appears in the journal PLoS ONE.
