The Specialization Diploma in The Sports Industry is a blended programme (on-site, online) of 57 ECTS and duration of one year, offered in collaboration with the Johan Cruyff Institute (JCI), and is offered in two different modalities (Spanish, English). The programme aims to train professionals in sports administration, with a special emphasis on the field of marketing. The pedagogical model is based on training based on a practical approach to decisions that refer to the administration of sports organisations, adapting to the constant changes experienced by the sports industry. The collaboration with the JCI allows us to offer a quality permanent training master's degree that is very much based on the reality of the sector, offering a pragmatic and applied vision for present and future managers of these organisations.
The programme is structured in three major complementary areas that cover all key aspects of the industry. On the one hand, the topics of leadership and management of sports organisations provide knowledge about operations, strategy, governance, financial management, entrepreneurship, information management and human resources. On the other hand, the area of marketing and communication in the sports industry focuses on the development of marketing strategies, commercial management, communication, sponsorships and strategic alliances. Finally, with regard to specific areas of the sports field, it delves into the current challenges of governance, digital transformation, competition management and sports facility planning, providing the student with a global and modern vision of the functioning of sports organisations.
On-site lectures (on Fridays and some Thursdays) take place at the Johan Cruyff Institute headquarters, in the Sant Gervasi district of Barcelona, where students will be able to interact with students from the full-time programmes offered at the same facilities, while having at their disposal all theadvantages that come with being a student of both the UAB and the JCI. Virtual teaching complements the face-to-face sessions and allows for flexible training adapted to the students' time needs. Additionally, thanks to the services of both institutions, students will be able to take part in extracurricular internships at companies and institutions in the sports sector, if they wish.
