Redesigning enzymes

Enzymes are proteins that regulate the rate of chemical reactions involved in biological processes. Researchers at the UAB Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology are currently studying strategies to artificially alter the structure of enzymes in order to modify their behaviour.
