This course is aimed at early childhood education professionals, nursery school teachers, and music school teachers, as well as other profiles interested in teaching music in early childhood, including families and people involved in non-formal education.
The program is structured according to the three musical competencies (listening, interpretation, and creation) and is taught by a team of specialists with experience in different educational and social contexts: nursery schools, initial and ongoing teacher training, activities with families, and music schools.
This training aims to provide knowledge of music didactics in early childhood and to position early childhood musical development to ensure conscious and well-founded teaching practice. Additionally, it aims to provide resources to share it appropriately with children, both in the workplace and personally.
Participants will receive varied training, combining theory and practice:
- Theory, presented through lectures.
- Practice, developed through workshops conducted by specialists in the different course topics.
The proposed activities will offer participants tools and resources applicable in different educational practice contexts.
The course is designed in an intensive format and will take place over two consecutive Fridays and Saturdays, between September and October, in the afternoon and weekend schedule. This programming is designed to facilitate the attendance of the target audience.
Study 5100/101 is part of the Making Music with Children from 0 to 6 Year-Olds micro-credential, a programme that offers the flexibility to be taken on multiple dates.
