Competence 9 of the current curriculum, which focuses on metalinguistic competence, aims to develop primary school pupils' ability to reflect on language and its uses. This implies a methodological change in the teaching of grammar, more focused on the active role of pupils and on the construction of knowledge about the language which connects with their previous knowledge, makes them improve their linguistic skills and enables them to begin to understand how the linguistic system works. This implies that the teacher has to select which grammatical content has to be introduced at this educational stage and in what way. For this reason, this micro-credential has two main objectives.
Firstly, it aims to update the linguistic and metalinguistic competence of teachers in order to deal with linguistic content from the perspective of having to teach it, and secondly, it aims to provide them with theoretical foundations and teaching strategies so that they can promote reflection on language among schoolchildren through the analysis and creation of learning situations to teach grammar through reflection from the earliest stages. o achieve this, the sessions are based on real situations, the resolution of which must respond to the difficulties detected in the classroom and make it possible to establish and analyse the bridges between communicative competence and reflection on language, taking into account the teacher's feedback as a tool at the service of metalinguistic reflection.
