In recent years, there has been a growing use of lobbying practices in Catalonia, especially in the social sphere, following the example of what has long been happening in other countries. This trend coincides with the emergence of a new context in which social issues are multiplying and becoming increasingly complex. The most effective way to address them is through a network governance model, which involves engaging a wide range of diverse actors and requires professionals capable of navigating the dynamics of influence.
This has led to a growing demand for professional profiles in the field of lobbying. The public affairs professional must have a solid understanding of the current environment (socio-political reality, institutional and legal framework), as well as of governance models and the paradigm of the relational state. They must also possess strong skills in areas such as communication, political analysis, project management, and interpersonal relations.
The Faculty of Political and Social Sciences and the College of Political Science and Sociology Professionals are well-qualified institutions to provide the necessary training to carry out the functions and tasks of lobbyists. Through this microcredential, they aim to develop a key competency in political advocacy activities: the design and execution of lobbying projects.
To this end, after presenting the conceptual and legal framework of lobbying, the course will offer practical guidelines and tools, review real cases and experiences to extract lessons and best practices, and include applied exercises with feedback.
