For some time now, there has been an increasingly widespread use of lobbying practices in Catalonia, especially in the social field, in imitation of what has been happening for some time in other countries and in parallel with the emergence of a new context in which social problems multiply and are increasingly complex, and the best way to deal with them is according to the network governance model, which involves giving play to a multiplicity and diversity of actors, needs of professionals capable of succeeding in the game of influences that occurs.
This is translating into a growing demand for professional profiles in the field of lobbying. The “public affairs” professional must be a person with good knowledge and understanding of both the current environment (socio-political reality, institutional and legal framework) and of governance models and the paradigm of the relational state, as well as with a solid set of skills in areas such as communication, political analysis, project management and interpersonal relations.
The Faculty of CCPP and SOC and the College of Professionals of Political Science and Sociology are qualified institutions to provide the necessary training to be able to develop the functions and tasks of lobbyists, and through this microcredential they want to train in a key competence of political advocacy activities: the design and execution of lobbying projects.
With this objective, after presenting the conceptual and legal framework of lobbying, action guidelines and tools for its practice will be given, cases and experiences from which to extract lessons and good practices will be reviewed, and applied exercises will be done and corrected.
