This microcredential, primarily oriented towards professional practice, is designed to enhance the skills and knowledge of individuals who work or wish to work in the field of cooperativism—whether in cooperative enterprises, representative entities, or second-tier organizations within the sector—as well as in public initiatives promoting cooperativism, such as the Ateneus Cooperatius and other local or Catalan-level bodies. It delves into the political and societal dimensions of cooperatives, their organizational models, and decision-making processes.

Knowledge of the political and societal models of cooperatives is applicable across various professional sectors, especially political science and sociology, as well as in projects related to work, consumption, housing, or finance that aim to build cooperative relationships based on democratic management models.

The course focuses on acquiring these skills and knowledge through the study of cooperatives (worker, user and consumer, housing, and financial services); tools such as Social Statutes and Internal Regulations, which govern the political, social, and economic structure of cooperatives in aspects like participation, decision-making, and other elements of their societal life; and the presentation of case studies such as Som Energia, Sostre Cívic, Coop57, or Coophalal, which offer interaction with inspiring experiences from Catalan cooperativism.
