Following the creation of the European Area of Higher Education, one of the University's main objectives is to transfer knowledge to the professional world. This has been the goal of the Animal Medicine and Surgery department at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona for over twenty years, when we introduced the ophthalmology courses, followed by others like anaesthetics or surgery workshops that many veterinarians have taken.
Considering the need for training for veterinarians who specialize in small animal treatment, we want to offer this master supported by the teaching experience of over twenty professors, most of them with the department, but mostly by the 13,500 cases we, the vets who will teach this master, treat every year.
Completing this study will mean an improvement in the conditions of professionals in all the specialties necessary to exercise the veterinary clinic by changing the way they face clinical challenges raised in daily practice, improving the functioning of the veterinary clinic.
