Master's Degree in Cardiac Imaging

The master's degree in cardiac imaging aims to provide training theory and practice in advanced multimodality imaging techniques, for provide the cardiology specialist with the capabilities to obtain and analyze studies obtained through echocardiography, ardioresonance magnetic (CRM) and computerized tomography (CT). With the objective to optimize the knowledge in the diagnosis by the image applied to the clinical practice, the training will have two sides, being the basis of conventional echocardiography. The student will have the option to train in advanced echocardiography (transesophageal echocardiography, three-dimensional, exercise echocardiography and echocardiography applied to interventionism structural) and in CRM and TC. The final objective will be to provide the student with capabilities to obtain, post-process, analyze and report shape studies autonomous.

The course is aimed at doctors specializing in cardiology who want to start to practice these techniques or perfect previous knowledge.
The student will be present in the acquisition of daily studies, treatment of the image
and in specific training sessions for the unit and the master's as well as the general sessions of the cardiology service. Likewise, the student participation in this area of research by getting involved in scientific studies that will be carried out in the unit and that will conclude with the Master's thesis.

Internships

The curricular internships will be face-to-face and mandatory. They consist of case analysis in a free manner and image processing within each subject using the appropriate image processing programs. The objective is to become familiar with the different programs and acquire technical skills and speed without affecting the usual work environment. It will not be necessary to prepare a report as in the tutored internships, but in case of doubts in the analysis and determination of diagnoses, the tutor can be consulted. They will be carried out in the cardiac imaging service of the Vall d'Hebron Hospital.
