The economic and social impact of developments related to mobile communication devices has become evident in recent years, a fact that has been intensified by developments related to new generations of high-performance communication such as it is the case of 5G. In this context, the design of devices and modules composing the user terminals, require advanced design techniques that allow to obtain highperformance devices, and extremely small dimensions at the same time. These requirements are even more demanding in the particular case of microwave filters, since a total of around 50 can be found in the user terminals currently being developed. And this is where microelectromechanical technology is key, a technology based on the use of piezoelectric materials, key in terms of the miniaturization of a device, but offering the electrical performance required in a high performance terminal.
The program aims to deepen the design techniques of devices based on microelectromechanical technologies. With this aim, the distribution of modules proposes a block dedicated to the study of advanced techniques for the design of devices and/or systems for land and space mobile applications, a second module focused on the particular analysis of acoustic technology and a third module where tools are introduced for the simulation and characterization of these devices complementing with measurements using ad-hoc laboratory equipment.

Internships
UAB masters and graduate diplomas may include or facilitate external academic internships in companies or institutions in order to help the student to achieve a level of expertise that facilitates the insertion or promotion in the workplace.
For this study programme non-curricular (optional) internships are possible:
- Non-curricular
As a UAB student, you have access to the University occupation portal, the Occupability Service, through which you can participate in selection processes for non-curricular practices as well as getting a contract. In both cases, you need to sign up to the Nexus application.
