The official master's degree in Food Safety is an interuniversity programme coordinated by the University of Barcelona (UB) with the participation of the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB) and Pompeu Fabra University (UPF). The course is organised and taught with the support of the Catalan Food Safety Agency (ACSA), the Public Health Agency of Catalonia (ASPCAT) and the Catalan Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock, Fisheries and Food.
This master's degree is a response to growing interest in food safety among agrofood companies, public authorities and consumers. Food safety is regulated by law, given its potential impact on the population. The mission of this master's programme is both to offer a broad, cross-disciplinary perspective on the different aspects of food safety in the agrofood business and to focus in detail on each sector and level of food production and trade.
