Admission Official Master's Degree in English Studies: Linguistic, Literary and Sociocultural Perspectives
Access
Access to this master's degree is open to holders of an official bachelor's degree from a Spanish university or from another higher education institution within or outside the European Higher Education Area, provided this gives access to postgraduate studies in the country of issue.Admission requirements
This Master's degree is principally aimed at students who hold a degree in English Studies, Modern Languages and Literature, Applied Languages or other language degrees that accredit level C1 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages and Literatures (CEFR). Students from related degrees, such as Linguistics, Literary Theory, Translation or Primary Education (with a major in English) who can prove theoretical training in the areas of linguistics and/or English literature may also apply. Accreditation is carried out by reviewing the applicant's academic transcript. Complementary training in the two aforementioned areas may also be taken into account as long as it has been provided by reputable institutions (e.g. postgraduate courses, university extension certificates, specialisation courses for teaching English as a foreign language, etc.).
Admission to this Master's degree requires you to accredit your English language skills by means of an official certificate (Cambridge, IELTS or TOEFL) higher or equivalent to level C1 of the CEFR in all skills (speaking, writing, listening and reading comprehension). The Master's degree coordinator analyses the documentation submitted by each applicant and, if there are any doubts about the number of credits or hours or about the level and nature of the training in the areas of linguistics and/or English literature, additional information is requested, such as study guides or syllabuses. If this documentation is not available, applicants will be called to attend an interview.
