Radio in Catalonia

Exhibition at the Communication Library and General Newspaper Archives.

The Communication Library and General Newspaper holds an exhibition about radio in Catalonia. This is one of the events to accompany the presentation of the Arxiu Sonor de la Ràdio a Catalunya (Radio Sound Archive in Catalonia), a joint initiative of the Institute of Communication (InCom-UAB) and the Library.

The exhibition aims to reflect the important role that radio has played in our home, since radio broadcasts began, almost a hundred years ago. The display of books, magazines and other documents offers a tour of radio stations, programs and presenters.

You will find from general works on the history of the medium to books on famous radio programs and memoirs of broadcasters. The library has also dedicated a specific section to women, who have been present in radio since its beginnings but who have too often been relegated to the background.
