The Study Abroad organizes the course "Comparative Law- Contemporary Legal Systems" for the Universidad del Desarrollo de Chile

From February 6 to 16, the Study Abroad Programmes of the UAB will give the course “Derecho Comparado- Los Sistemas Jurídicos Contemporaneos” to students of the Faculty of Law of the Universidad del Desarrollo de Chile.

The program is coordinated by Josep Cañabate, professor of History of Law and Contemporary Legal Systems and given by the taught of the Faculty of Law and will take place in the Aulari  J, on the UAB Campus.

The Study Abroad Programmes is an entity of the UAB that provides training programs designed by international students.

In this case, the Study Aboard has prepared a course for the students of the Law School of the Universidad del Desarrollo de Chile, where aspects related to comparative law and contemporary legal systems will be discussed.

This course has the objective of analyzing the main legal systems of the world from various perspectives and approaches (legal families, religious element, etc.). On the other hand, it will try to analyze issues related to the so-called "non-official law", the phenomenon of decolonization and situations of legal pluralism.

This program is coordinated by Josep Cañabate, professor of History of Law and Contemporary Legal Systems and taught by the faculty of the UAB Faculty of Law: Susana Beltrán, Vice-dean of the Faculty of Law, Marc Hernández, professor of History of Law and Contemporary Legal Systems, Iván Aybar, professor and lawyer specialized in Islamic law, Stefania Giombini, professor and researcher specialized in Jewish law, Mario Macías, professor and researcher specialized in Jewish law and Laura Casas, professor and lawyer specialized in criminal law and criminologist.
