Heat wave alert
The heat warning for tomorrow Tuesday 1 July for the regions of Vallès Occidental and Barcelonès will be HIGH (3/6). Civil Protection has activated the PROCICAT ALERT plan for the heat wave expected to last at least until Wednesday. The UAB therefore advises members of the community to take into account the recommendations of Civil Protection and take extreme precautions in outdoor activities.

It is recommended to follow the guidelines of the Ministry for Employment to minimise the risks associated with heat:
1. Constant hydration: drink water regularly.
2. Skin protection: Wear light clothing that covers the maximum surface area of the body, hats and use sunscreen.
3. Light meals.
4. Frequent breaks: Take advantage of cool areas to rest.
5. Task planning: Prioritise the most promising tasks early in the morning or late in the afternoon.
6. Avoid isolation: Make sure you are not working alone.
7. Adapt working conditions: If preventive measures are not sufficient, adjustments such as reduced hours or modified tasks may be required.
