On 6 and 7 June, the EPSI UAB will hold the International Congress on Autonomous Driving and Legal Safety of Transport, in the framework of the homonymous project funded by the Ministry of Science and Innovation, in Room 307 of the Edifici Blanc. The meeting will be held in hybrid format, also through the online platform Teams, and will bring together panels of experts to reflect on the challenges related to safety and the increasing use of automated transport vehicles.

Director of UAB Prevention and Integral Safety and Security Montserrat Iglesias-Lucía presented on 19 September the results of the second study conducted by the Observatory for Women and Security, which shows a slight increase in the number of women in the sector, but a decrease in some leadership positions. Although organisations such as the Mossos d’Esquadra police have seen a 10.34% increase in women commissioners, in some local police forces there is an “irrelevant” representation of women in the upper senior positions (only 1.13%).
The UAB, through EPSI, is a university member of SECUREU research project. Earlier this autumn, 6 discussion panels took place in Spain, Letonia, Lithuania, Finland, Norway, and The Netherlands gathering experts in security to share their perspectives on how young specialists should be trained and the competences they lack.
