The Master's Degree in Surgical Nursing teaches the general and specific competences needed for the expert care of persons undergoing surgery. To this end, it can rely on professionals with expertise in learning resources and practical training, and also on two level III hospitals that treat pathologies of the greatest complexity, where all surgical specialities are performed, to high scientific, technological and humanistic standards.

To achieve its objectives this degree can count on the commitment and support of the nursing professionals working in the surgical units. Their continuous professional development and the experience they have built up day by day have given them the level of expertise they need to respond to the academic demands of their nursing colleagues.

This is a profession-oriented master's degree whose teaching staff is largely made up of nurses who have acquired high levels of competence in surgical procedures by gradually taking on more and more responsibilities and solving problems.

Surgical procedures require a great deal of highly specialised knowledge, which means that postgraduate-level training is needed to meet the academic and employment-related demands of today's society.

Finally, it should be emphasized that this Master is the fruit of the Postgraduate Degree in Surgical Nursing, which has been carried out continuously since 1995.
