Since the beginning of this graduate certificate programme in 1999, its goal has been to train professionals in the area of peace culture and promotion.
During the programme, students receive the necessary knowledge to understand the concept of peace culture and education and micro conflict transformation (interpersonal relations), and they develop analytical skills to deal with macro conflicts (armed conflicts) and negotiation processes.
Research and communication: Journalism in contexts of armed conflict or human-rights violations; study-centre or university researchers.
Ambit of education: teachers of infant school, primary school, secondary school; university lecturers; educators in the non-formal sector.
Community work: Social workers, social educators, health staff, mediator or workers in other fields who have to face community, family or workplace conflict.
Others: Experience has shown us that it is possible to incorporate perspectives of peace and human rights in engineering, philosophy, architecture, etc.

UAB masters and graduate diplomas may include or facilitate external academic internships in companies or institutions in order to help the student to achieve a level of expertise that facilitates the insertion or promotion in the workplace.
