The ECIU, the UAB’s European alliance, organises a webinar on challenge-based learning
Universities, students, and external organisations are increasingly collaborating to tackle real-world challenges through challenge-based learning. The ECIU will present the experience and progress of this innovative educational model over the past seven years, which is driving new ways of teaching and learning in Europe.
The seminar, taking place on 11 September at 12:00 noon, will present the evolution of the ECIU as a pioneering alliance in challenge-based learning over the past seven years. The alliance will also showcase the collaborative approach involving universities, students, and external entities, its future potential in the sector, and the new position paper on this teaching method.
The webinar will feature Susanne Conze, head of the Higher Education Unit at the European Commission, who will present the context of European policies in this field. Timothy James Marshall—a user experience strategist for learning innovation and researcher in challenge-based learning at the ECIU and the University of Stavanger (Norway)—will also speak, offering his insights on designing innovative, challenge-oriented learning experiences. Case studies from various European alliances (CHARM-EU, EU-CONEXUS, EuroTeQ, and EUGLOH) will be included, alongside perspectives from students and the organisations posing specific challenges.
