New edition of the ECIU Research Labs to promote collaborative research projects
The ECIU, the European alliance of the UAB, invites lecturing and research staff from its member universities to participate in the second edition of the ECIU Research Labs, an initiative aimed at generating new ideas and collaborative projects in research areas such as energy, mobility, health and digital transformation.
The ECIU Research Labs aim to foster the creation of collaborative research projects within the alliance to be submitted to European or international calls from 2027 onwards, as well as to promote networking and collaboration initiatives at doctoral level.
The initiative is structured in the following phases:
- Submission of research project proposals by the lecturing and research staff of the entire alliance to the ECIU Research & Innovation Hub, before 3 March 2026, following the next steps:
- Register at the ECIU Research & Innovation Hub through this form
- Once the access to the ECIU Research & Innovation Hub is received, publish the research project proposal.
- Online meeting on 9 April 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. (CET), where the proposals presented will be shared and discussed.
This meeting is aimed at both the lecturing and research staff who has submitted a proposal, and those who want to know the proposals presented, to eventually collaborate on them. In all cases, you must send an email to eciu.coordinacio@uab.cat to inform of your interest in attending this meeting, so that we can keep you informed of all the steps.
- Subsequently, the proposals identified in the online meeting will be developed collaboratively by the groups of teaching and research staff who wish to join.
- Presentation of the proposals to the ECIU Research Committee, which will select the projects with the most potential by the end of June 2026.
- Collaborative online work on the selected projects.
- Face-to-face meeting of the members of the selected projects to be held on 4 and 5 November 2026 at the Lodz University of Technology, Poland.
The travel and maintenance expenses of the participating UAB lecturing and research staff will be financed through the ECIU Research Mobility Fund –Research Labs Programme and those who have been selected will be required to request the corresponding grant. The procedure will be reported later.
